Program: Black Mental Health Response Team
The Black Mental Health Response Team exists to provide evidence-based, evidence-informed, and culturally centered mental health supports to communities of color. The team is comprised of mental health professionals who are experienced in providing these supports to communities of color and have a desire to enhance the level of mental healthcare services by minimizing the applicable social determinants of health.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Program Director for the Black Mental Health Response Team is dedicated to offering culturally sensitive mental health support to communities of color. Consistent with BestSelf policies, procedures and relevant regulatory requirements, the role's responsibilities include establishing community relationships, organizing & overseeing program delivery, ensuring compliance with regulations, addressing client feedback, and maintaining safety. The Program Director provides consultation, clinical supervision, and evidence-based practices, aiming to minimize social determinants of health and enhance mental healthcare services.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· This position is responsible for the oversight of the Black Mental Health Response Team. Supervisory responsibilities of these direct reports include consistent coaching, feedback, & development, review & approval of timecards, and completing performance reviews & development plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish and maintain relationships with various community stakeholders.
· Support community engagement and outreach events as necessary.
· Complete and submit regular programmatic data to the Chief Health Equity Officer, regulatory bodies, and funders as required.
· Oversite of Program Delivery.
· Provide consultation and clinical supervision to staff.
· Review and sign off on staff clinical records in a timely fashion.
· Compliance with Regulations - ensure all case records are in compliance and all paperwork is completed according to Standards of Care and Licensing Regulations.
· Ensure appropriate billing occurs.
· Address client feedback (including concerns).
· Cover administrative emergencies.
· Make effective and efficient decisions regarding daily operations.
· Ensure safety inside and outside the building.
· Conduct staff meetings to foster teamwork.
· Ensure team is trained and current in evidence-based practices to include practices centered on serving communities of color.
· Leads meetings with support staff to ensure efficiency of the office.
· Leads meetings with personnel to review and ensure they meet performance standards.
· Ensure compliance with all agency and program policies and procedures.
· Completes all trainings required by the agency.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must have knowledge of clinical supervision practice, relevant community resources and mental health treatment system structure, common mental disabilities, basic behavior theory and principles of psychiatric rehabilitation, multi-disciplinary team methodology, common psychotropic medications, and direct service delivery methods and theory.
· Experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to stay organized, maintain records, and build reports.
· Minimum proficiency with Windows based software applications is required.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends.
