The Life Skills Coach provides intensive in-home services that teach independent living skills to housed participants. The goal is to provide services and supports that will help the individual to achieve and maintain community stability through teaching and reinforcement of independent living skills, identifying and using other resources in the community, and monitoring of health and nutrition.
The Justice Involved Support Specialist will support the New York Statewide Comprehensive Screening Project. Reporting to the Program Director of the Justice Involved Program, the Justice Involved Support Specialist will conduct needs-based screening and facilitate referrals for individuals with criminal legal involvement, specifically with the Lackawanna City Court, to community-based organizations that can address their needs. The Justice Involved Support Specialist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide support and linkages to services that contribute to the underlying causes of an individual's involvement with the criminal legal system.
The Homeless Senior Housing Specialist provides technical assistance to the Supported Housing team to ensure compliance with relevant housing regulations. Also serves as a resource to the team around the delivery of case management and other support services and assists the Housing Team Leader and Program Director with federal, county, and state reports.
Provides consistent, high quality forensic interviewing and advocacy to the abused children seen at the Child Advocacy Center at BestSelf. Communicate the results of the interview as indicated and act as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team.

The Youth Peer Advocate operates within a team of professionals who deliver services to consumers of behavioral health services. Youth Peer Advocate services are formal services and support provided to young people (primarily between the ages of 12-26), who are experiencing social, medical, emotional, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges. The purpose is to ensure engagement and active participation of the young person in their treatment and decisions that affect their lives. Youth Peer Advocate services are provided by a trained and credentialed Youth Peer Advocate who has personal lived experience as a young person with a social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenge, or has received services in any one of the child serving systems (juvenile justice, foster care, special education, or addiction recovery). Youth Peer Advocate services can be provided in individual and group settings.
Family Peer Advocacy Services are an array of services and support systems provided to families raising a child or young adult up to age 21 who is experiencing social, emotional, addiction, or behavioral health challenges in their home, school, community, and/or placement. Family Peer support services are provided by a trained and credentialed Family Peer Advocate (FPA) who is uniquely qualified to work with families based on their personal lived experience parenting a child with similar needs and the specialized training they receive. This service provides a structured, strength-based relationship between a credentialed FPA and the parent/caregiver for the benefit of the child/youth. The purpose of this service is to support the parent/caregiver and enhance their skills so they can promote positive youth functioning and their child’s ability to live successfully in their community.

Youth Development Specialist are responsible for providing and monitoring programming designed to develop students' knowledge of specific activities, according to the Youth Development Specialist skill-sets, interests, hobbies and educational background. Youth Development Specialist are positive, professional and work to the best of their ability during the after school hours. Youth Development Specialist can deliver age-appropriate lessons, activities and/or clubs that encompass hands-on learning, community services, and community-linked activities. Youth Development Specialist will communicate any needs, issues or feedback to the Site Coordinator in a timely manner so that any needs or student behavior (good or bad) can be addresses and dealt with efficiently. Grades served vary per site and range from kindergarten to grade 12.
After School Teachers will work with the Site Coordinator, School Principals and School Day Staff on setting academic goals that reflect program and district objectives for all students enrolled in the after school program. After School Teachers are responsible for providing and monitoring programming designed to increase state and local test scores in reading and math. Teachers are positive, professional and work to the best of their ability during the after school hours. Hours vary by each school site. Per Diem hours.
The Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) RN Supervisor is responsible for all professional nursing duties as required. The Director of Residential Treatment will have oversight of all residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services. The position will ensure that all residential treatment programs operate in compliance with OASAS regulations while expanding services to meet the needs of adolescents and adults with substance use disorder. This individual will identify and implement new opportunities to expand services and to integrate services across the residential programs, where appropriate, ensuring utilization of shared resources, while maintaining specialized care where needed. The position provides the leadership and management necessary to ensure the success of residential treatment services. The Victim Advocate of the Child Advocacy Center works within a Multi-Disciplinary Team. The caseload consists of primary and secondary victims of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse, and is shared by the team members. The Victim Advocate assists clients by providing information and referrals based on an assessment of client and family need, advocacy throughout the investigative process, supportive counseling and linkage to the NYS Office of Victim Services.
The Teacher at RAS is responsible for developing individual education plans tailored to each participant’s needs, creating daily assignments across subjects for participants in school, and promptly correcting and returning assignments in a timely manner. The role also entails maintaining accurate grade records and providing average grades every ten weeks. Additionally, preparing participants for standardized tests such as NYS testing, Regents testing, or GED testing is part of the role. The Teacher builds and maintains effective relationships with school district members to develop learning plans that best suit the needs of the student. Lastly, maintaining and documenting Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in compliance with agency and regulatory requirements is necessary.

Enforces policy regarding storage and inventory of sample medications, use of sharps containers, and medical waste management. Provides group and individual treatment. The Peer Specialist operates within a team of professionals who deliver services to consumers of Behavioral Health Services. The Peer Specialist delivers peer support services with rehabilitation and recovery focus, with a primary goal of connecting individuals to community based recovery supports consistent with the treatment/recovery plan. People with personal experience as a recipient of mental health and/or substance use treatment or of personal recovery are encouraged to apply.
