Housing Program Director

Reports To: Vice President of Specialty SUD Services and Housing

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Program Director works at a maximum level of independence and responsibility for the operations of Housing Services, including the development, oversight and evaluation of housing protocols and activities in relation to the Housing program. He/She will be responsible for the program plans, organizes and directs the services of the program, manages daily operations, provides non-clinical and administrative supervision to program staff, and provides direct services to clients as needed. The Program Director oversees the process of intake, assessment, admission, discharge, and engagement of participants involved in BestSelf Housing program (s). The Program Director performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President and Director of Specialty SUD Services and Housing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative:

  • Participates in development of program budget.
  • Monitors and manages program operation to assure delivery of services within contracted levels in accordance with available resources.
  • Provides personnel management, administration of personnel policies, staff meetings and supervision, staff evaluations, recruitment of staff and related functions.
  • Assures maintenance of physical site and compliance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintains program activities in compliance with BestSelf, Erie County, New York State, Medicaid and/or other regulatory agencies.
  • Assures completion and accuracy of all data collection, and attendance reports.
  • Coordinates program's relationship with other agencies and community resources.
  • Assures accuracy of all record keeping including client chart documentation.
  • Participates in all relevant agency meetings and committees.

NON-Clinical:

·  Provides leadership in developing and maintaining housing services, which responds to the needs of the client population.

  • Provides non-clinical supervision to program staff.
  • Develops and assures implementation of housing team meetings.
  • Leads team in formulation of program content based on client needs.
  • Provides direct services to clients as needed.

·  Schedule and assigned duties are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the clients we serve.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

·  Must have knowledge of non-clinical supervision practice, relevant community resources and substance use/mental health treatment system structure, common mental disabilities, basic behavior theory and principles of behavioral/psychiatric rehabilitation, multi-disciplinary team methodology, and direct service delivery methods and theory.

·  Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and the ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

·  Minimum proficiency with Windows based software applications is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree in social work, psychology, or closely related human service field, 

PLUS, supervisoryexperience in a drug use services, housing, or homeless program.

Current CASAC (T) certification preferred.

NYS Driver's License required.
