SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Client Safety Specialist works with site staff to keep the site welcoming, safe, and secure. Responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the site, waiting areas, and building grounds to ensure an inviting, supportive, and safe environment for staff and clients. The Client Safety Specialist is a member of the building team and coordinates activities with the team and with the various programs located at the site.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet clients and visitors entering/exiting the building.
  • Assist in the screening and routing or providing directions to clients and visitors, especially during check-in/check-out.
  • Assist patients in adhering to clinic policies/procedures/rules (i.e., time slotting).
  • Assist other staff in maintaining a stable and respectful environment.
  • Supervise entryway and waiting areas to ensure waiting room rules are followed.
  • Provide an inviting and comfortable environment in waiting areas.
  • Uphold no soliciting and smoking rules for parking lot and entrance of clinic.
  • Keep both site leadership & Client Safety Supervisor properly informed of any safety and security issues (i.e., loitering, suspected or witnessed medication diversion or the trafficking of illicit substances).
  • Manage general upkeep of waiting areas (e.g. making coffee, organizing waiting areas, updating client bulletin boards) in order to maintain a clean, orderly environment.
  • Patrol all areas directly outside of the building and parking lot with random checks throughout the day and complete frequent rounds of the interior of the site.
  • Preparation of incident reports and participation in incident investigations as necessary
  • Lead and coordinate response teams during emergency situations according to policies developed for the use of panic buttons and associated paging codes.
  • Keep supervisor informed in a timely manner when emergency situations occur.
  • Provide coverage to other sites as requested by supervisor.
  • Completes all trainings required by the agency.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Some Peer support experience preferred.
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have reliable transportation when occasional need to travel to other sites occurs.
