Client Safety Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Starting Rate: $21 per hour at 35 hours Full Time

Locations available in the surrounding Buffalo area and Orchard Park

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative and Legal Officer, this role assists in all aspects of regulatory compliance as it relates to but not limited to NYS OASAS, OMH, and DOH regulatory bodies. Maintains safety records, audits and incidents reports. Coordinates the Safety Committee meetings. Responsible for maintaining alarm systems, access control, video surveillance and other safety infrastructure/equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the oversight of the Safety Coordinator. Supervisory responsibilities of these direct reports include consistent coaching, feedback, & development, review & approval of timecards, and completing performance reviews & development plans.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as point person for Agency program sites that have safety problems or concerns relating to their facility.
  • Inspect agency buildings, work areas, and equipment.
  • Monitors work practices and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements, recommends corrective action.
  • Coordinates necessary repairs or maintenance for safety infrastructure/equipment as needed.
  • Assist with project management Provides support and input with regard to space planning for Agency programs.
  • Provides advice for program/site relocations, capital improvement projects, and equipment deliveries and installations.
  • Inspect building security systems and schedules repairs.
  • Conduct agency fire drills for all sites.
  • Site inspections to include fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, general office conditions.
  • Maintains all safety records in a secure location.
  • Compiles and analyzes safety data, such as incidents and safety violations.
  • Maintains up to date safety policies , practices and procedures.
  • Issue work orders for needed repairs or replacement of safety equipment.
  • Document all Inspections and corrective actions taken.
  • Travels to different sites and locations to conduct inspections.
  • Knowledge of general office policies, practices and procedures.
  • Adheres to standard safety precautions and follows safe work practices.
  • Performs additional functions incidental to health and safety activities.
  • Assist agency maintenance team as needed.
  • Completes all trainings required by the agency.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Experience in Health Care environment and/or Life Safety Code Compliance preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety and record keeping procedures.
  • Use basic maintenance and repair equipment such as, but not limited to, hand tools, hammers, drills, and ladders.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff.
  • Basic computer and smart phone skills required.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License.
  • Must have accredited NYS Defensive Driving course; or obtain within 15 days of hire and send certification of completion to Human Resources.
  • Must maintain active NYS Defensive Driving course every 3 years and send a copy of the new certification of completion upon expiration.
  • Must maintain valid vehicle inspection, registration, and insurance cards and send updated copies to Human Resources upon expiration.
