Security Specialist of Abbott Corrners OTP

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Security Specialist works with the OTP staff to keep the OTP safe and secure. Must complete frequent rounds of the interior of the OTP clinic and parking lot.  Report any inside or outside security issues (i.e., loitering, suspected or witnessed medication diversion or the trafficking of illicit substances) to OTP staff immediately. Responsible for overseeing waiting areas in OTP and providing an inviting, supportive and safe environment. Overseeing OTP clinic grounds to ensure safety of staff and clients. Requires evening, weekends, and holiday shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Verify patient clinic ID, greet patients entering/exiting the building.

·  Supervise entryway and waiting areas to ensure waiting room rules are followed.

·  Provide an inviting and comfortable environment in waiting areas.

·  Provide direction to patients, especially during check-in/check- out.

·  Uphold no soliciting and smoking rules for parking lot and entrance of clinic.

·  Patrol all areas directly outside of building and parking lot with random checks throughout the shift.

·  Will assist patients in adhering to clinic policies/procedures/rules (i.e., time slotting).

·  Will assist other staff in maintaining a stable and respectful environment. 

·  Lead and coordinate response teams during emergency situations according to policies developed for the use of panic buttons and associated paging codes.

·  Schedule and assigned duties are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the clients we serve.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

·  Interact socially with patients in respectful manner. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Associate Degree or equivalent in criminal justice

OR

·   Human service field and two years of full-time paid experience working in law enforcement/corrections or a human service agency.

·  Must hold a valid hold a NYS pistol permit.
