Treatment Assistant of RASI

Job Title: Treatment Assistant 

Reports To:  Direct Care Staff Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Notice:  2 weeks

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Treatment Assistant provides support and motivation to the residents in developing daily living skills.  The Treatment Assistant assists other staff members in monitoring resident progress.  Must be able to support a trauma informed care environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A.  Supportive Services

·  Assists in the orientation of newly admitted residents, including the checking in of personal belongings.

·  Assists in providing a therapeutic milieu for residents, including development of daily living skills and behavior management.

·  Monitors resident behaviors, and documents accordingly.

·  Conducts periodic rounds of the facility, interacting with residents during unstructured free time in order to monitor behaviors and to assure resident safety.

·  Assists staff in crisis management as needed.

B.  Other Duties

·  Provides resident transportation as assigned.

·  Prepares necessary paperwork for upcoming shifts.

·  Covers phones and reception area as assigned.

·  Participates in staff meetings and in-service training when scheduled.

·  Performs all other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent PLUS 2 years full-time paid human services experience including experience providing services to adolescents.

Must have clean valid NYS Driver's License.  First Aid/CPR certification a plus.

Must have Accredited NYS Defensive driving course; or obtain within 15 days of hire.

Must maintain Active NYS Defensive Driving class every 3 years, upon expiration.
