The Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) RN Supervisor is responsible for all professional nursing duties as required. They will provide training and supervision to other nursing staff, including licensed practical nurses and any on-call or part-time registered nurses. They are responsible for compliance to regulations, policies and procedures. They will ensure the continuity of care within the maintenance medication programs. They will maintain clear communication with pharmaceutical contacts to work toward improving medication access and adhering to DEA and OASAS regulations. They will oversee and/or coordinate insurance communications to obtain prior authorizations and any other communication as necessary. They must be willing to work and/or be available on call on weekends. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The OTP RN Supervisor receives clinical and administrative supervision from the Program Director. They provide supervision to all other Nurses. |

RESPONSIBILITIES: · Supervises all other OTP nursing staff within the agency. · Schedules nursing staff, seeks and/or provides coverage when other OTP nurses are off. · Maintains inventory of on-site store medications in compliance with the U.S. Drug Enforcement (DEA) and NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) regulations. · Responsible for the accuracy of the inventory of methadone, buprenorphine and any other medications that are maintained in the dispensary. · Responsible to order medications and all other supplies needed in the dispensary and for the OTP consumers through communications with pharmaceutical companies and venders. · Properly disposes of medical waste in compliance with U.S. DEA and NYS OASAS regulations. · Conducts health monitoring assessments for consumers to include: Adult BMI Screening, Generic Health Monitoring (BP, R, Temp, etc), Tobacco use screening and smoking cessation counseling, Assures communicable disease risk assessments is done on all consumers, other assessments as assigned. · Blood draws on all consumers for required tests. · Administration of PPD to all consumers. · Provides training on medical issues to clinical staff. · Dispenses methadone, buprenorphine and IM injections. · Assures accuracy and completeness of all case notes. · Develops assessments, treatment plans, and diagnostic reviews on determined schedule. · Obtaining observed and unobserved urine sample for drug toxicology testing · Audits consumer charts regularly to ensure compliance to protocols. · Obtains prior authorizations from insurances as needed. · Schedule and assigned duties are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the consumers we serve. |

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: |

· Must have strong knowledge of nursing functions, medication assisted treatments for opioid use disorder, mental health medications as well as maintenance medications. · Must have strong phlebotomy skills. · Must be knowledgeable on protocols for maintenance medications. · Must be knowledgeable about communicable disease transmission. · Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to consumers and staff both individually and in group settings. · Ability to speak Spanish desirable. · May be required to participate as member of on-call team. · Supervisory experience desirable. |

QUALIFICATIONS: |

· Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing, a bachelor's degree preferred, plus a license to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State or possession of a temporary permit. · Four years of experience, at least three of which must have been in mental health, substance abuse treatment, or perinatal health care setting.
