Program Director of ACT Renew

FLSA Status: Exempt

Starting rate: $56,100 per year

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The ACT Program Director establishes, administers, and directs the Assertive Community Treatment program, a self-contained clinical team which assumes responsibility for directly providing needed treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to identified clients with severe and persistent mental illness as assigned by the Erie County Department of Mental Health Single Point of Entry Coordinator.  The Program Director supervises and evaluates the multidisciplinary team in conjunction with appropriate psychiatric support to ensure service excellence, and functions as a practicing clinician on the team.  The Program Director directs the day-to-day clinical operations of the team and coordinates the client admission process and services in conjunction with the team psychiatrist. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shares case management, treatment and rehabilitation duties with the team.
  • Insures that staff is educated in and follow through with outreach safety protocol.
  • 24/7 program on-call for staff consultation and crisis intervention.
  • Trains staff in ACT core competency skills as identified by the NYS Office of Mental Health.
  • Insures accurate communication and reporting to the Erie County Single Point of Entry and Assisted Outpatient Treatment Programs.
  • Responsible for insuring cross-training on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Provides personnel management including: administration of personnel and clinical policies.
  • Evaluates each team member annually.
  • Organizes chairs and facilitates ACT Morning Meetings.
  • Determines the appropriateness of each referral and interfaces with all referral sources, as needed.
  • Oversees the completeness and formatting of all clinical records, treatment planning processes, charts, and documentation protocols.
  • Addresses the training needs of the team and promotes access to relevant trainings.
  • Promotes the program to all potential referral sources in an ongoing effort to provide community awareness regarding ACT eligibility criteria and services.
  • Oversees the general operation of the ACT team.
  • Assumes and designates on-call responsibility for 24-hour coverage.
  • Conducts staff recruitment.
  • Fiscal management and budget oversight.
  • Ensures maintenance of the program's physical environment.
  • Develops and maintains program policies, forms, and procedures and revises these as necessary.
  • Insures compliance with the NYS Office of Mental Health ACT Licensing protocols.
  • Insures agency corporate compliance standards are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Possesses a Master's degree in a relevant professional discipline.

·  Professional (QHP) certification/licensure that meets the NYS Office of Mental Health definition for professional staff. 

·  Possesses three years' full time mental health experience, including one year in a senior clinician or supervisory role

AND

  • A valid NYS drivers' license.
  • Automobile in good working order.
  • Must have Accredited NYS Defensive driving course; or obtain within 15 days of hire.
  • Must maintain Active NYS Defensive Driving class every 3 years, upon expiration.
  • If driving one's own vehicle, must maintain valid inspection and automobile insurance.
  • Must provide proof of insurance upon hire and when requested.
