SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This clinical trainer position will be responsible to conduct current training programs for CCBHC programs and work to develop curriculum to expand offerings to the training department, including the development of educational material requirements for each project. The clinical trainer will need experience with various training methods, including supervision, coaching, mentorship type programs and also the ability to design engaging ways to train staff. Candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and work independently, as well as having a working knowledge of evidence-based practices. The position will also require a willingness to learn technology related to training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing and developing CCBHC training programs (outsourced or in-house) for clinical staff, medical staff, and support staff.
  • Choosing appropriate training methods per case (in person, mentoring, on the job training, professional development, e-learning, etc.)
  • Market available training opportunities to employees and providing necessary information about sessions, including digital enrollment
  • Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
  • Design, prepare and/or order educational aids, manuals and materials as needed
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skill sets and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Gather and process feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
  • Research and recommend new training methods
  • Schedule and assigned duties are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the clients we serve.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Adequate knowledge of training process and CCBHC services (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Strong communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in a human service field AND professional certification (e.g. LCSW, LMHC, LMFT), AND at least two years of paid work experience in a mental health setting.

AND

  • A valid NYS drivers' license.
  • Automobile in good working order.
  • Must have Accredited NYS Defensive driving course; or obtain within 15 days of hire.
  • Must maintain Active NYS Defensive Driving class every 3 years, upon expiration.
  • If driving one's own vehicle, must maintain valid inspection and automobile insurance.
  • Must provide proof of insurance upon hire and when requested.
