The Financial Grants Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial management, reporting, and compliance of BestSelf grant-funded programs. This role assists in accurate budgeting, cost allocation, financial tracking, and regulatory compliance across all foundation and government funding sources. The position works closely with Program Directors and other operational leaders to align financial operations with programmatic goals and funder expectations.
The Client Safety Specialist works with site staff to keep the site welcoming, safe, and secure. Responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the site, waiting areas, and building grounds to ensure an inviting, supportive, and safe environment for staff and clients. The Client Safety Specialist is a member of the building team and coordinates activities with the team and with the various programs located at the site.
Family Peer Advocacy Services are an array of services and support systems provided to families raising a child or young adult up to age 21 who is experiencing social, emotional, addiction, or behavioral health challenges in their home, school, community, and/or placement. Family Peer support services are provided by a trained and credentialed Family Peer Advocate (FPA) who is uniquely qualified to work with families based on their personal lived experience parenting a child with similar needs and the specialized training they receive. This service provides a structured, strength-based relationship between a credentialed FPA and the parent/caregiver for the benefit of the child/youth. The purpose of this service is to support the parent/caregiver and enhance their skills so they can promote positive youth functioning and their child’s ability to live successfully in their community.
Responsible for supporting counseling staff in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. Will provide supporting duties including requesting and organizing clinical/medical records, completing supportive documents for counseling staff, providing support to counselors as needed.
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for the day to day operations of the front offices of various BestSelf Behavioral Health programs. The CSR is expected to perform the secretarial, clerical, data entry and processing duties of their respective program. The CSR is also expected to provide exceptional customer service and care for BestSelf Behavioral Health consumers.
The Peer Specialist operates within a team of professionals who deliver services to consumers of Behavioral Health Services. The Peer Specialist delivers peer support services with rehabilitation and recovery focus, with a primary goal of connecting individuals to community based recovery supports consistent with the treatment/recovery plan. People with personal experience as a recipient of mental health and/or substance use treatment or of personal recovery are encouraged to apply. Honesty, respect for diversity, high personal standards, professional language and behavior reflecting such values are required.
The Transitional Specialist is the member of the multidisciplinary team who assumes primary responsibility for assisting resident in development of housing plans and to identify educational/vocational resources in the community. Works in collaboration with Case Manager to ensure that residents obtain needed off site support services. Helps clients determine their eligibility for social services and other benefits and assists in the application process when needed. Teaches daily living skills to clients.
Assists in maintaining a stable and therapeutic environment in the residence. Assists residents in learning community integration, provides exposure to supportive services and encourages participation in social, educational, vocational, psychiatric, and rehabilitative activities. Assists in household management tasks such as preparation of meals or housekeeping tasks. Oversees clients engaged in household tasks. Provides transportation for and supervision of clients who leave the facility. If assigned to night duty, the RSS is responsible for supervision of the facility, security camera monitoring and enforcement of program rules under direction of the on-call management team.
The Site Facilitator is responsible for managing the expanded learning programs at various school and community sites. Grades served vary per site and range from kindergarten to grade 12. Responsibilities include recruiting and enrolling students, provide programming designed to improve social emotional skills, increase academic achievement and provide positive youth development opportunities. The facilitator is responsible for developing and coordinating the expanded learning program at their assigned site. This includes recruiting and supervising program staff and students, designing program schedule that supports program objectives, managing site specific budget and completing and maintain all required data, reports and paperwork.
The Hotline Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring that individuals coming through the Western New York (WNY) 24-7 Virtual On-Call hotline Center, as per the SAMHSA Medication-Assisted Treatment - Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction (MAT-PDOA) grant, successfully connect and gain access to the care that they request via telehealth services. The Emergency Support Specialist will answer all incoming calls through the MAT-PDOA hotline number, screen and transfer calls to the appropriate providers for immediate access to MAT services, complete grant surveys, in a manner in which accommodates the needs of the SMI (Serious Mental Illness), SED (Serious Emotional Disturbances), SUD, and COD (Co Occurring Disorder).

The Senior Counselor works at a maximum level of independence and responsibility, often sharing responsibility for program operations with the Program Director. ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) is a program designed to deliver comprehensive and effective services to individuals who are diagnosed with SPMI and whose needs have not been well met by more traditional service delivery approaches. ACT is grounded in a recovery-oriented practice and provides an integrated set of evidence-based treatment, rehabilitation, case management, and support services delivered by a mobile, multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team. ACT supports individual recovery through a highly individualized approach that provides individuals with the tools to obtain and maintain housing, employment, relationships, and relief from symptoms and medication side effects.

The Social-Emotional Coordinator (SEC) provides Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) support to students within grades K-12 with the grade levels varying per site. The SEC is responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate social emotional interventions that align with the program and school goals. The SEC facilitates social emotional supports for the designated target population during the expanded learning time and designated times throughout the school day.
A licensed health care practitioner who provides nursing care under the direction of an RN, NP, physician, physician assistant. LPNs provide compassionate care that is respectful of each patient's needs, values and wishes. The LPN is responsible for monitoring the health status of clients at the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. She/he responds to any emergencies in accordance with established policies and procedures and is responsible and accountable for providing direct and indirect patient care procedures reflective of BestSelf Behavioral Health mission and values.
The Treatment Assistant provides support and motivation to the residents in developing daily living skills. The Treatment Assistant assists other staff members in monitoring resident progress. Must be able to support a trauma informed care environment.
Our Registered Nurses are responsible for all professional nursing duties as required. Enforces policy regarding storage and inventory of sample medications, use of sharps containers, and medical waste management. Provides group and individual treatment. Develops treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments, and formulates a diagnostic impression. Adheres to basic standards of nursing in conjunction with all NYS licensing standards.
The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing medical services provided to consumers by BestSelf medical staff including psychiatrists, physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses. The Medical Director will be a resource to the Senior Management Team and will advise the team on all medical matters. The Medical Director will provide organizational leadership to the medical staff ensuring that all consumers are provided with a high quality of medical care. This position will offer clinical leadership to the organization and contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures related to medical care. The Medical Doctor will contribute the quality of care offered by BestSelf and, as needed, will offer education and information to the clinical staff.
The Youth Peer Advocate operates within a team of professionals who deliver services to consumers of behavioral health services. Youth Peer Advocate services are formal services and support provided to young people (primarily between the ages of 12-26), who are experiencing social, medical, emotional, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges. The purpose is to ensure engagement and active participation of the young person in their treatment and decisions that affect their lives. Youth Peer Advocate services are provided by a trained and credentialed Youth Peer Advocate who has personal lived experience as a young person with a social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenge, or has received services in any one of the child serving systems (juvenile justice, foster care, special education, or addiction recovery). Youth Peer Advocate services can be provided in individual and group settings.
Youth Development Specialist are responsible for providing and monitoring programming designed to develop students' knowledge of specific activities, according to the Youth Development Specialist skill-sets, interests, hobbies and educational background. Youth Development Specialist are positive, professional and work to the best of their ability during the after school hours. Youth Development Specialist can deliver age-appropriate lessons, activities and/or clubs that encompass hands-on learning, community services, and community-linked activities. Youth Development Specialist will communicate any needs, issues or feedback to the Site Coordinator in a timely manner so that any needs or student behavior (good or bad) can be addresses and dealt with efficiently. After School Teachers will work with the Site Coordinator, School Principals and School Day Staff on setting academic goals that reflect program and district objectives for all students enrolled in the after school program. After School Teachers are responsible for providing and monitoring programming designed to increase state and local test scores in reading and math. Teachers are positive, professional and work to the best of their ability during the after school hours. Hours vary by each school site. Per Diem hours.
