RESPONSIBILITIES
· Research grant and contract opportunities for the purpose of securing funding for current operations as well as program growth.
· Shares potential grant and contract funding opportunities with program directors to identify alignment of funding opportunities with programmatic and broader organizational strategy.
· Where multiple programs may be a fit for funding (limited submission), coordinates submission with senior leadership team for prioritization.
· Perform as project manager for all grant projects from grant research and request through fulfillment of awarded grant.
· Supports internal and external collaborations (e.g. meetings with program officers and senior leaders, meetings with district personnel, community organizations, businesses, etc.) for the purpose of securing funding to maintain and expand services.
· Manages team working to develop concept/program for proposal and serves as grant writer as needed. (internal and external team members)
· Supports leadership in all aspects of proposal development; provides direct preparation of proposals for institutional grants.
· Coordinates development of budgets and budget justifications in alignment with proposal goals and objectives.
· Reviews budgets with finance for alignment with objectives/deliverables, institutional policies, and state/federal regulations.
· Coordinates preparation of additional proposal elements (biosketches, letters of support) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
· Provides guidance on research-related regulations (where applicable).
· Interacts and liaisons with program officers and financial team.
· Secures appropriate internal reviews and signatures prior to submission.
· Submits proposals and supporting documentation via mail or online portals.
· Acts as principal liaison on agreement review, contract process, and processing between BestSelf and sponsoring agencies and collaborating institutions.
· At award acceptance stage, closely review program objectives/ deliverables, and any modifications, with program directors to assure program and budget alignment.
· Coordinates review and approval of award documents by CEO and other authorized BestSelf officials as required by funder.
· Maintains organization-wide roster of foundation and government contract history, deadlines and status.
· Supports successful grant and contract management by reviewing progress toward grant objectives/contract deliverables with program directors and interfacing with program officers on grant/contract modifications, as needed.
· Supports program directors in preparing reports for timely submission in accordance with funder requirements.
· Coordinates with marketing to plan opportunities to acknowledge funding.
· Monitors state and federal requirements related to grant and contract management; advises senior leadership on policies and procedures needed to support compliance with state and federal regulations related to growth in grant and contract activity.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree (in Business, Public Administration, Communications, or other related fields) with a minimum of 3 years related leadership experience in grants and contracts development/writing
· Master's degree preferred
· Experience working with Human Services organizations/agencies
· High level project management skills and organizational skills
· Able to communicate effectively and at a high level; verbally and in writing
· Ability to manage cross-functional teams on related projects
· Comfortable with project management software
· Extensive experience and understanding of state and federal regulations, grant writing, grants management and multiple state and federal grant submission portals and reporting sites
· Experience presenting to a variety of audiences.
